Whanake Te Toi

Whanake Te Toi is a unique talent quest for our iwi members to showcase their passion for Te Reo Maaori through song, poetry, drama and the creative arts.

A special event showcasing the top 15 acts will be held on Saturday 13 May at Turangawaewae Marae. This event will aim:

• To promote Te Reo Maaori to Waikato Tainui members under the mantel of the Kiingitanga
• To increase awareness and engage Waikato Tainui tribal members to actively participate and gain knowledge of the richness of our Reo and Tikanga
• To showcase the talents of Waikato Tainui tribal members

Guest performances by reggae band Ihi and Awhimai Huka & James Tito.

Kai and arts & crafts stalls are available on the night with heaps of awesome prizes up for grabs too! So bring the whaanau! Doors open at 6pm and entry is FREE.
